30-07-2008 THE DIRECTOR OF CINEMA EGYPTIAN YUSEF CHAHIN HAS DIED

Many people call him the father of the egyptian cinema, others designate him one of the most popular characters of the arab world. But everybody is in accordance in what Yusef Chahin will go down to the history as one of the directors of egyptian cinema more important of the world. Yusef Chahin died the Sunday, 27 of July, in The Cairo to the 82 years, because of a deterioration of the cerebral bleeding that had the last month. According to the sources of the Hospital, Chahin was in deep coma several weeks. The director of egyptian cinema, who was born in the Mediterranean city of Alejandrķa in 1926, was buried the last Monday, 28 of July, in a Catholic church in Alejandrķa. He began his artistic career in the decade of 1950 and he enhanced by giving his film a human component and defence of the weak, especially in the films with countryman and landowner. Besides, the egyptian actor Omar Sharif was famous thanks to Chahin. The producer and scriptwriter got the Prize of the 50 anniversary of the Festival of Cannes by his work in 1997. Between his more known films are 'The destination' (1997), that is a complaint of the fanaticism, 'The Earth' (1969) and 'Alejandrķa, why' (1978), first part of an autobiographical trilogy quartet.
